In his will, art collector Olavi Turtiainen left his collection to the city of Joensuu, which consequently led to the founding of Joensuu Art Museum. A Prescription for Art contains the catalogue of the collection and articles discussing Turtiainen as a collector and private person. The apothecary Olavi Turtiainen was a talkative and empathic person with a good sense of humour. In his private life he was a serious art, music and theatre enthusiast. Turtiainen collected the art of his own time: young Finnish art from the 1950s forms the core of the collection. The book is richly illustrated with images of the over 300-piece collection.
