Art collector Carl-Johan af Forselles (1923-2010) was known in the art circles as a firm supporter of modern art. Forselles was not only a collector but also an acclaimed art expert: he wrote articles on artists and art, and worked as a consultant in many different exhibitions. Forselles donated his considerable, over 470-piece collection to the city of Joensuu in 2007. Modernism in Finland discusses the backgrounds of both the collection and the collector. The richly illustrated book includes a full catalogue and articles, two of which have been written by Forselles himself. Editor: Eino Nieminen. 155 pages.
